Course Outline for Trigonometry

Preliminary Exam Coverage:

 Leithold chapters ( 6.1-6.6 and 7.5 and 7.6 )

1. How to graph trigonometric functions and inverse trigonometric functions ( 20 points )

2. Finding the domain, range, t- intercept , f(t)- intercept, amplitude, and period ( descriptions of the graph ). (   20 points )

3. Solving Trigonometric Equations. ( 10 points )

Midterm Exam Coverage:

Leithold chapters ( 6.7, 8.1 and 8.2)

1. Solving right triangle and oblique triangles with the use of law of sine or cosine. ( 20 points )

2. Applications of these "solving" - Angle of elevation/ depression; bearing  etc. ( 30 points )

Prefinal Exam Coverage:

Leithold chapters (7.1 - 7.4 and 7.7)

1. Proving Trigonometric Identities ( 30 points )

2. Finding the exact value of the trigonometric functions using identities.  (20 points )

Final Exam Coverage ( Comprehensive Exam)
